Hello, beautiful people! How's your week so far? I bet you guys are all busy partying for Halloween right now. Collecting candies and whatnot. Though I don't celebrate Halloween, it's always interesting to learn other people's culture. Anyway, I'm back with another review and this time I'll be reviewing my first wash-off mask from Etude House and it's from the awesome Wonder Pore line, the Clay Clear Mask.
I bet you guys already know that integrating a clay-based products is a must for those who have oily and oily-normal combo skin. Why? Cause clay can help in absorbing excess sebum and minimise your pores!
About the product, Etude House claims that this mask will:
- Deep cleanse pores
- Maintain pH of 4.5+1
- Control a large amount of sebum
- Minimise the appearances of pores
- Refine the skin tones
- Keep the elasticity of pores
- Moisturise inside and outside of skin
Wow! A 7-in-1 functions in one tub? That sound awesome! But we'll see if this product really rise up to my expectation.

Packaging:
This wash-off mask contained in a tub with baby blue hue. It's made out of a sturdy plastic so I don't have to worry if I were to drop this in the bathroom. The manufacturing date was printed on the bottom side of the tub. Of course, it comes with a spatula. Gold star on hygiene.
Once you screwed open the tub, there's a plastic lid provided inside to avoid the product being spilled while you're on travel. What's more? The ear-like plastic thing that can help you to pull the lid up.
Texture and Consistency:
The mask, in it's 'Carbonated' form.
After stirring the mask with the provided spatula. Now, it looks like a regular clay mask. ^__^
It's a thick creamy clay paste. When I first opened this mask, I was surprised to see the texture of this mask. What's with the sponge-like paste? Then, I found out it's because of the oxygen-delivering 'Carbonated' ingredient. While applying the mask on my face, it's easy to spread and it will only started to dry out like 3 to 5 minutes after applying it.
Verdict:
Okay, for the first time ever, here's my photo while I had the mask on. Haha :D Pardon my lack of skills in photography. I still can smile here cause I took this photo right after I applied the mask.
Right: While having this mask on face, for the first 10 minutes, I can feel that my facial area is kind of throbbing. It's ticklish for me! LOL But I don't mind it as it gave me a cool and refreshing sensation at the same time. Left: After 10 minutes. I guess you guys can see my 'highlighted' T-zone area, right?
After about half an hour, I washed it off by using this awesome Etude House Wonder Pore Cleansing Facial Brush. It's really easy compared to using just fingers. Just brush your face in circular motion until all traces of mask are removed. Place the brush upright and let it dry naturally. After that, I dried my skin and continued with my skin care routine.
Scent: To me the scent isn't too strong, it smells like clay, I guess? But the scent is refreshing and it lingers throughout the time I had it on.
I gotta say, after washing the mask off my face, my skin feels so smooth and soft. I guess it means it really did removed the accumulated dead skin cells. I could see that it really deep cleansed my skin as when I wiped my face with toner, I don't see any visible trace of dirt on my cotton pad. Do note that it's important to deep cleansed our pores to avoid our pores from being clogged with dirt and whatnot. As far as I know, clogged pores can ultimately lead you to acne, fine lines, and of course, your skin will look dull and dark.
I can feel that my skin isn't tight right after washing off the mask, which is good. It does moisturizes my skin. I noticed that, after using this mask in the morning (yeah, I do that sometimes), my skin produce less sebum throughout the day and I only need to blot my T-zone after 4 to 5 hours, while the usual would be as early as an hour.
Does it refine my skin tone? Maybe a prolong use of this mask can contribute to that as if you regularly do scrub and clay mask, your skin will be more even and brightened.
Final verdict: 4.5/5. Minus 0.5 cause I can't damn move my face, not even smiling while I had it on. But it's not too much of a deal.
This mask is retailed at RM69.90 at all Etude House beauty stores in Malaysia. But I got this in mid August where the store had Buy 3 products and get 30% discount.
Actually, Etude House has released a new upgraded version of this mask and it's renamed to White Clay Clear mask, under the same Wonder Pore line as well. As for this mask, I read reviews on it, saying you can move your face freely while having it on. That sounds awesome!
Well, what more can I say, the Etude House beauty store in 1Borneo Hypermall, KK, Sabah isn't as updated as the ones in KL. I was just in my first week of getting to know Korean beauty products and this was one of the Etude House best seller. Plus I was looking for products that are focusing on pore care and hence, I was sold! I haven't tried the new version on my face yet (I tried it while I was in Etude House beauty store the other day) but I am looking forward to purchase it when I'm finished with the one that I have right now.
Anyway, that's all from me. Feel free to drop comments, share your experience if you used this mask before, maybe recommend clay-based mask from other brand. I thank you for reading my blogpost, and have a good night, everyone!
Until next post, annyeong!
