Hello, lovelies! I just got back from my design studio (and yes, it's 5 in the morning) and before going to bed, I decided to write a review about a product that I have come to a conclusion that this product goes into my Must-Have list. It's THE FACE SHOP Natural Sun AQ Super White Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++.
I was discussing with my friends earlier on sun screens that we use everyday and to my surprise, only 2 out of 5 of us use sun screens! Malaysia is a country where it's hot all year around and I think it's very important to use sun screens.
But to be honest, me too, was an ignorant who didn't use any sun screen at all, until one day I went outside my house to play with my baby nephew for a few hours, and next thing I knew, I got a terrible sunburned.
Plus, since I've been using brightening products which are THE FACE SHOP Flebote White Crystal line for about 6 weeks, I'm desperate for protection! If I left my dorm without putting on sunscreen, I feel like my face is burning! According to the beauty assistants at The Body Shop, that's the result of using a brightening or whitening products without using sunscreens. Totally didn't know about that.
Even with my BB Cream that has SPF26 PA+++ or a BB Mousse that has SPF30 PA+++, I still feel the slightly burning feeling on my facial skin so I guess there's only solution to that. That is to get a product with higher SPF i.e. a product like this one.
A quick note, "SPF" stands for “Sun Protection Factor”. The value demonstrates the effectiveness of protection against UV-B, as well as the degree of protection against UV-B when nothing is applied on skin. For example, SPF 25 means that the UV protection product is 25 times more effective on guarding against skin redness (sunburn) from the sun than when nothing is applied on skin.
"PA" stands for “Protection Grade of UV-A”. PA+ signifies the product as having “protection efficacy” with PA ++ and PA+++ indicating strong protection efficacy. In general, the higher the SPF value, the higher the PA value.
In short, UVB causes sunburn and UVA causes long term skin damage. Source

How to Use:
At the final stage of basic skin care, dispense an adequate amount and apply evenly to desired parts of face area.
Capacity: 50ml
Packaging:
The Front of the box which tells you the product details and the back of the box which has description of the product that written in Korean.
The side of the box where the translation of the description of the product and its ingredients.
Yes, the reason why we're getting ourselves a sunscreen is to get protection from the sun but I can't shake the idea of loving the orange hues on the packaging! One of favourite flower is sunflower and I totally dig this kind of colour. Plus, it's so much easier to spot this among millions things in my school backpack and stuffs on my dresser. Yes, all architecture students love to put their stuffs on display. We hardly stack things or put stuffs in boxes.
There's the basic info at the back of the tube and I like how small the opening of the tube. It's so easy to control the amount of product that being dispensed.
Texture/Consistency:
Dispense small amount on your finger first, and even it out across your facial area.
Er.. sorry for the glittering traces there... I was swatching an eye shadow. Hehe
For merely few seconds, you actually can see how the white cream being spread, so it's easy to spot which area isn't covered yet.
After one or two minutes, it gives you a matte finish.
This sunscreen has a light creamy texture. It doesn't give any sticky feeling at all and it's so light I feel like as if I haven't applied anything on my skin. Which is great! Love the matte finish too.
Scent:
I have tried few other sunscreens before but boy I don't like their scents at all. But this one, though it contains fragrance, it only give you a pale scent of I don't know how to describe it, but it does smell like toothpaste but not minty. Fresh scent I guess. But the scent doesn't linger for a long time, it goes right after you spread it across your face.
Verdict:
I love it! From the concept of integrating a whitening/brightening ingredients into a sunscreen, to it's packaging, and of course how I don't get the slight burning sensation on my face, and my friends are starting to tell me how my skin is less dull compared to a month ago. I guess this sunscreen helps my skin care in working its way into my skin.
I also love the fact that I only need small amount every time I applied this on my skin so a little goes a long way. I've been using this for exactly 3 weeks but by looking at it below a light source (cause the tube has an opaque white colour), I can see that it's not even reaching mid level of the tube.
This sunscreen is retailed at RM69.90 but I got this during THE FACE SHOP anniversary sale, so I got 20%+5% membership discount.
Final verdict: 5/5.
Future reference:
I found out that this line is probably discontinued and replaced with Natural Sun Eco line that has ranges from Smart Cushion Sun Original (with UV rays-blocking, moisture, BB, foundation functions), Power Long Lasting Sun Cream SPF45 PA+++ (that comes in 80 and 50ml), Aqua Sun Gel SPF40 PA+++, Body & Family Mild Sun Milk SPF40 PA+++, Oil Cut Sun Cream SPF40 PA+++ (a possible replacement, it has sebum absorption powder that cover pores and give you matte finish) and Super Perfect Sun SPF50+ PA+++ (another possible replacement, sold at only 8,800KRW at TesterKorea). I think the line is incredibly awesome as they offered great range of product. Click below posters to go to TesterKorea website. I'm not paid for this, it's just that I prefer to online shop at this site.
Anyway, I think that's all from me.
How about you guys? What's your favourite sunscreen? Any recommendation for me?
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend, y'all! oh, Happy Halloween!
