Review: Skinfood Black Sugar Scrub Foam

Sunday, 16 February 2014
Today I'd like to share with you guys a review on this I should say good cleansing foam that I had since last November, as I consider myself to be done with reviewing my October Haul, so this is the first item from November Haul that I'm going to review. Here's the mentioned product, Black Sugar Scrub Foam from Skinfood.

If you guys familiar with the Black Sugar line of products, this is one of the best selling item from Skinfood indeed.

Product Description:
A foaming scrub that contains mineral-enriched Brazilian black sugar.
Gently exfoliates dead skin cells and leaves skin soft.

How to use:
Take moderate amount of the foam on wet hand and lather it sufficiently.
After massaging it over your face, rub gently, rinse off with tepid water then finish off with cold water.

Net vol.: 50g (from Black Sugar kit)

Packaging:

As you can see in the photo below, the product comes in this brown tube with the label in brown hues as well. You may not already know but it is Skinfood's trademark that they used the same font for their products.

There's product description on the back of the tube and as you see below, peel off the label and you get to see the ingredients list stated. There's also the expired date embossed on the tube.

Please not that this product contains Methyparaben and parfum.

Personally, I don't really like this kind of caps for tubes packaging.

Texture and consistency:

The texture of this scrub foam is creamy and at the same time it contains the grains of sugar. The scent is indeed like other products from the Black Sugar line, the Perfect First Serum for an example. It's not really that strong or overpowering. It's not really unpleasant, so no worry.

Verdict:

For me, the performance of this product is rather amazing as each and every time I use this product, I could see the brightening effect as this does help me in washing away the dead skin cells off my skin.

After using the product, as I have oily-combo skin, it's not drying but I'm not sure for those with dry skin  though.

The grains in the cleansing foam will start to melt or I should say blend with the foam after massaging my face like a minute or two and it isn't really that harsh to my skin.

The only minus point for me is as it contains parabens. That's all.

Final verdict: 4/5. I'm actually glad as I bought just the kit and not full size of the product as while I was getting this, I also heard from many bloggers how they raved happily about this product.

I got this product along with other items in the Black Sugar Kit for RM30 at the Skinfood Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur.

So I guess that's all for this product, I hope you find my review rather helpful. :)

Au revoir!
