Annyeonghaseyo! Today, let's change the pace for a bit, okay? I've been watching some Korean drama lately, despite my busy schedule hahaha call me the queen of procrastinating, please! Oh, well. it's just that I'm not actually that busy compared to end of semester so right now it's cool to hang out here just a little bit.
So today, in continuation of reviewing the products or items from my November Haul, today I'll be reviewing a product that may not be something new to all of you beauty junkies out there, it's this Black Sugar Wash-off Mask from Skinfood.
Look what Shiro got here? :)

Net weight: 100g.
Packaging:
Like the Rice Wash-off Mask, this product too comes in the same white tub. I gotta say, I don't really like the packaging actually as Skinfood only uses words to label this product. I honestly think that the packaging design unit in Skinfood need to improve on this aspect of the product. This is already one of the best selling item but it is tough competition among beauty cosmetic companies. As a design student myself, I bet there are other ways of preserving tradition (just look at that Comic Sans font!) other than keep on using the same design for the longest of time.
On the side of the tub there's the product description and Ingredients list as well. Please note that this product contains butylparaben and parfum.
Also, shea butter so I bet this product won't be drying out our skin.
There's the manufacturing date, shelf life should be 30 months from that date but once unsealed, use within 12 months.
This product does comes with a plastic lid, embossed with the brand's name.
Took the photo the first time opening this product. That's how much you'll get.
Verdict:
As for the texture for this product, as it's contains black sugar, of course it's grainy but unlike the Scrub Foam from the same line, it won't melt as you massage this product on your skin. For me it's not really that harsh but I would recommend to add a little by little so you can adjust to your skin needs and condition.
On the left photo, that's my hand before using the product. As some of you may already know, I lost all my essential software so as for right now I can't edit my photos, so yeah. But pardon me for the different lighting.
On the right photo, just for precaution, I added toner, which is my Wonder Pore Freshener (as I have lots of them so let's experiment, okay!) so I won't irritate my skin. As spatula isn't provided, so you have to get your own to keep the product from contamination.
Can you guys see the grains of sugar on the left photo? Just massage it for like 5 minutes an leave it for another 10 to 15 minutes before washing it off with water.
The lighting on the right photo is slightly intense compared to other photos but even with that, I can tell there's slight change on my skin.
But I can assure you that after I use the product on my face, I can see the difference in terms of texture as my skin become softer and I don't feel any tightness so it's moisturising enough. I didn't break out after using this, no irritation, and I don't recall any burning sensation.
Final verdict: 4.5/5 I guess. Works greatly with my oily-combo skin so complaint on that. One minus point as the product contains paraben.
I got this product from the local Skinfood store here in Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. The BA was kind enough to give me samples for Black Sugar Perfect First Serum to try as well. The retailed price is RM44 and of course, you can collect 2 Angel stamps for your Loyalty card.
I guess that's all for this post, do tell if you tried this product before and if you guys any similar product, do share, okay!
Until next post, au revoir!
