Review | TheFaceShop Face It Oil Cut Pore Balm

Monday, 3 March 2014
Annyeong! :D How are you guys today? It's really hot here in KL, Malaysia so do make sure to wear mask (especially in this crazy haze!) and drink lots of water! I drank almost 2 bottles of 1.5l today. Phew! Anyway, I want to apologize due to slow updates and whatnot. It's been really crazy for the past few weeks with assignments. Typical uni life.

So today, finally got some time to do some review, I decided to share with you guys about this product that I've been using the for about 2 months now, it's a balm especially for my oily T-zone area, the Face It Oil Cut Pore Balm from TheFaceShop.

I got this in my November Haul last year together with a powder pact. I'll review the powder pact in a bit.

First, let's go to Product Description:

Oil control balm perfectly filling visible pores and fine lines for porcelain-like smooth skin.

This magic balm prevents sheen caused by excessive sebum and keeps the skin soft all day long. it improves adherence to the skin if products used in subsequent stages for a velvet-like smooth finish.

Contains Oil Cut Complex, a patented phyto-complex containing mung bean extract, birch extract and curly dock extract to prevent skin problems by controlling sebum production.

How to use:
After completing skincare and before beginning make-up, use puff included to apply lightly to areas that have troubled pores or appear excessively shiny.

Zoom in for the ingredient list. Please note that the company uses Methylparaben and Fragrance in this product, though I'm not sure whether it's originated from natural resource.

Packaging:

Exactly the same as the box, the product is housed within this tin-like case. Minimalist, with green hue, I like the design.

Just twist the case to open. I don't really like this kind of method. Not helping especially in the morning.

There's a plastic lid to separate the included puff. Totally love this.

A closer look on the puff. It's really soft!

That's the balm. Took this photo before using the product, and as you can see, it's exactly at the half of the tin-case.

Verdict:

On the left is my bare hand. I've been under the sun lately, getting more tanned than before. huhu

On the right is after applying the product, as you can see, it gives slightly brightening effect due to the product colour and my dry patches is less accentuated. Totally making my skin soft and smooth.

How I use this pore balm? I usually apply the product on my T-zone area after I'm done with my skincare. At first, I apply my BB Cream right away but it turned out to be somewhat weird looking finish, so the second time I applied this on my skin, I waited for like few minutes, let it settle I guess, then I applied my BB cream on top of it.

I gotta say, with this pore balm, it gives me the smooth finish that I want. The oil control of my BB cream is better as the product does helps in making it lasts longer.

As it contains fragrance, this smells rather citrusy or minty I guess. It's not really that strong so no worry.

Final verdict: 4/5. I haven't tried any other pore balm so this might be biased opinion. But yeah, I don't think I'll be purchasing this again as I do want to try other similar products. I got this product during the Cosmetic Sale last year with 50% of its retailed price of RM69.90.

I guess that's all for this post. I would really love if you guys can recommend similar products, other than Benefit Porefessional Pore Balm, please. I already know it's awesome. hehe

Until next post, au revoir!
