Review: Etude House Magic Bubble Peeling: Brush Peeling Foam

Thursday, 15 January 2015
Salam and annyeong, my lovely readers! I'm sorry for the slowly update as I'm in the middle of my vacation, possibly the last one for a long time in the future. Sigh.

I've been writing several drafts so hopefully I'll get into posting mood soon so I can share lots of posts with you guys. hehe

Here goes my first review of 2015!

On those days that I'm not really in the mood to do facial scrub, I'll go for peeling products instead. It's important to keep your skin from accumulation of dead skin cells.

I actually tried other sister products of this one which are the Creamy Peeling Wash and O2 Water Peeling Pack. So far, I really like the latter as it works better compared to the former. Let's see if it'll still remain as my favourite among the three items!

Product Description:
Formulated with AHA, this 2-in-1 rinse off cleanser and exfoliator polishes away dullness and impurities, leaving skin feeling purified and smoothed.
It cleanses so thoroughly, yet gently with its unique soft Peeling Brush that skincare and make-up products can be absorbed better.

How to use:
Pump a moderate amount into hands/fingertips and apply to damp skin. Using the hands or the massaging brush, gently massage onto the face in circular motion. Rinse well with warm water. Can be used daily.

Packaging:

Like other sister products from the Magic Bubble Peeling line from the brand, this one too, comes in that soft purple bottle with that illustration of bubbles. If you didn't know, this product was released back in 2011 so I bet some of you are thinking that the packaging isn't really like other Etude House products that are soooo cute these days. I'm inches away from getting the whole set of Castle Hand Creams.

Yellow bubble on the left: Brush Bubble Type. Containing Apple Extracts.
White bubble on the lower right: Combination of Cleansing and Peeling.

The manufacturing date was printed at the bottom of the packaging. Excuse my forced-habit of writing the month that I started using it. hehe

I was a bit worried as other sister products have "do not let the product into your eyes" sign but thank God as even though the product DID got into my eyes once before, it doesn't hurt or anything. Just washed as quickly using running water.
Product usable within 12 months after opened and right away after dispensed

There's English product description so no worries as you'll find out basic info on it. Unfortunately, the plastic that wrapped the product before has lost somewhere as this product was originally used by mom and she didn't take any picture on the ingredients list. From the official posters, I only know that this product's main ingredient is Apple extracts.

The product comes with that plastic brush and a stopper-brush cover for hygienic reason. The brush part can be removed from the head so you can wash it if you need to.

How this product works is you just pressed down the head part to pump out the bubble foam and just directly start washing your damp face in circular motion. Focus more on congested area like around the nose area and mouth area. The brushes are soft so no worries. If you didn't like you can just use your fingers.

The bubble foam isn't thick as I expected so to me, it's more like a morning cleanser as no dirty makeup residue to wash away that usually require thicker foam like whipping foam.

Verdict:

If you're familiar with AHA formulated products then you should probably know what AHA products is all about.

Alpha-Hydroxy Acid, AHAs are well known for their use in the cosmetics industry. Often found in products claiming to reduce wrinkles or the signs of aging, and improve the overall look and feel of the skin. How it works? By removing the the top layer of skin, revealing newer skin beneath.

Usually, AHA-formulated products targeted to those with dry skin hence the reason why this product has added apple extracts, for moisture and pore care.

Throughout the few weeks I've been using this as my morning cleanser, this works fine as basically, I didn't break out, the citrus scent is indeed refreshing and I didn't experience any irritation and whatnot.

The most important thing when it comes using exfoliating cleansers like this is you have to use sunscreen after your morning skincare routine. New skin layer is more susceptible to sunburned compared to matured skin.

After trying three products from this Magic Bubble Peeling line, both this product and the Creamy Peeling Wash is suitable for dry to normal skin while the O2 Water Peeling Pack is more suitable for normal to oily skin. Sole reason probably how the peeling pack one can sometimes make my cheek area slightly dry after using it.

Final verdict: 4/5. This cleanser is good both as a cleanser and peeling product as it basically liven up to my expectation based on its claims.

One minus point would definitely because of its ridiculously quite expensive Malaysian retail price which is RM99.90 here in Etude House Malaysia. It's retailed around USD12 online. I got this thankfully at marked down price of RM29.90 as it was on Sweeties Club Promotion. so I guess, in the end it's 5/5!

This is more like a second exfoliating cleanser that I tried so far as the product's purpose and design is quite similar to Laneige White Plus Renew Bubble Cleanser only different in formulation. I'll let you know how it compared in the review later.

Have you tried this product? Do you have any AHA-formulated cleanser? If you don't, would you get one?

I'll see you guys next post!

Annyeong!
