I have to admit, if you saw my Instagram photo today, you'll know that I'm officially a cushion foundation addict. I've been practicing my skills on applying liquid foundations but there are days I'm on a hurry and can only afford to apply one thing before going out. Well, I can literally applying some lipstick while putting on my shoes so that doesn't count. haha
My first cushion foundation is from Etude House and the next ones are either from the Laneige, TheFaceShop, and of course, Innisfree. My main focus when it comes to my base makeup are usually sebum-control, matte finish and doesn't oxidise so much that my face either turned ashy or look orange.
Product Description:
A long-wear cushion formulated to keep the skin looking bright and smooth all day while staying strong against sweat and sebum
How to Use:
Use puff to evenly smooth over face in the stage of foundation and gently pat to finish. Reapply by gently patting whenever desired.
Capacity: 15g
Packaging:
The cushion foundation came in that simple box. While Etude House sell their cushion on its, Innisfree does the same but the refills are available for purchase separately. As I bought this from a local Innisfree store, there's the English label sticker on the back.
As you can see above, I got the first one in original packaging in No. 23 True beige.
Moving on to the case, I gotta admit that the case definitely give off a cheap feeling to it as the lid doesn't click to the bottom part tightly so do make sure yours shut properly before tossing it into your bag if you're like me who are not really into makeup pouch.
It goes without saying that the cushion foundation comes with that typical blue puff. I think all puffs made for Amore Pacific brands are made from the same manufacturer. Correct me if I'm wrong.
There's the lid that separate the cushion from the puff and at the same time to contain it from being too exposed too much to the air. Make sure to tighten this before shutting yours. Before using the cushion, do take out that seal.
Left: No. 23 True Beige Right: No. 31 Deep Beige. I honestly think that the No. 23 is quite on the natural tone while No. 31 being warm but I have to say this. No. 23 was too light for me hence I'm doing a demo using No. 31 below.
Application:
Left: Bare-faced. Right: One layer of the cushion foundation. If you could see that towards my neck, you can tell that the shade is slightly yellow than my natural skin tone.
I set my makeup with my favourite setting powder which is also from the brand, the No Sebum Mineral Powder, did my brow and applied a lipstick from Etude House. This is definitely my go-to look these days.
Overall, I do like this cushion. The formulation lasts quite a long time than I expect it to be which is 6 to 8 hours but I do have to blot away my excess sebum and reapply my translucent powder. I've tried using primers prior to the application of this foundation and indeed it lasts even longer and the finish is even smoother.
This is retailed at RM80 at the local Innisfree stores here in KL so do drop by the store and check it out!
I got that Spring Limited Edition of the cushion foundation mid of last year and I just hauled that Christmas Edition few weeks ago during my trip to KL. Honestly, these are not even near finish with as I'm using my Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control way more than them. I guess it's more suitable to be used indoors or not-so-heavy outdoor activities as this has high SPF as well.
So I guess that's all from me. Let me know if you're hooked on cushions as well and do recommend a good cushion if you feel like it.
Until next post, annyeong~
P.S.: If you didn't see the Instagram post I was talking about earlier...
