I'm pretty sure that lazy can never be put together with the word beauty hence I'm gonna say this first.
This is not a routine that I do every night.
Ever since I started working regular hours from 8 to 6 p.m. for the past month, I came home being extremely tired therefore my skincare routine has become something I hate to go through after I'm done for the night. Going through at least 10 products for night routine is what I've been doing for the past 3 years but these days I gotta admit there even days I just washed up and go to bed right after spraying a moisturizing facial mist.
Therefore I went for a research on multi-tasking products trending right now and that's when I discovered that Beauty Water from Son & Park but before I go a little bit more into that product, I think it's important to put down one rule to this routine which is a thorough cleansing.
I started my cleansing routine with removing waterproof eye makeup with Rice Water Bright Lip and Eye Remover from TheFaceShop. It's probably not the best remover I've tried so I can't wait to finish this up and get a better product next time. I usually soaked a cotton pad with it and placed on my eye area for like 30 seconds before wiping out my eye makeup.
These days I'm using either waterproof cushion foundations or medium to high coverage liquid foundations so it's just easy to remove all that using cleansing oil and I know I just opened a new product from Etude House last month so the one that I'm currently using right now is actually Egg White Pore Cleansing Oil from Skinfood. As I only started wearing makeup for almost everyday since last year around August I think, I haven't really tried a lot of cleansing oils but out of 6 that I've tried for a period of time and I personally finished 3 of them, I do think TheFaceShop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil Light is the best and this one from Skinfood comes in close second. The texture is similar as they're both quite light but both of them remove my makeup really well. It's only lacking when it comes to its price point which is KRW14,000 (RM42~) but it's around RM70 to RM80 on online stores selling this product here in Malaysia and I don't see this product being sold in local store.
My current evening foam cleanser is the oil cleanser that I've mentioned above which is Egg White Pore Meringue Foam. It's basically a bubble cleansing foam and the foam is indeed soft like meringue. After using eye makeup remover and cleansing oil, the softness of the foam feels really nice actually. As these two products are from their best-selling Egg White Pore line so the product concept is to clear off your pores from impurities and I definitely can vouch for that. Other than making my skin feels so smooth as if I'm using egg white mask back in my high school days, my pores appears to be cleaner and I can tell from less blackheads formed compared to when I use other cleansers.
Now, let's talk about the Beauty Water. Basically it's a toner but it gives me more than that. It does tone my skin after thorough cleansing step and as I'm using it with layered cotton pads that I got from Etude House (it's similar to Skinfood cotton pads that come with their Black Sugar Perfect First Serum), I still can see some dirt or probably dead skin cells after wiping my entire face on it. How it works is similar to that of Wonder Pore Freshner from Etude House but this doesn't dry my skin unlike that one. I love the scent, too!
To my knowledge, this product is quite a cult product in South Korea and some K-beauty bloggers and YouTubers I'm following are swearing by this product even. To me, it's definitely a must-have product and this is one of the first items that I crowned with Holy Grail status. I bought the huge 500ml bottle at first purchase via a Seoul personal shopper because there was small price difference with the regular 340ml.
Done with cleansing and toning step, I finish off with applying a thick Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX, an absolute favourite or other sleeping pack in my beauty stash. This double as my hydrating essence and moisturiser and I just love this number from Laneige. No wonder it's the best-selling product from the brand for years.
I've been doing this night routine maximum 3 times a week and continue doing my regular routine on other nights. So far I don't see any changes in my skin which is a good sign I guess so yes, at this point I'm desperately hoping I can get used to my workload as soon as possible so I get to rest better at night. If you're also like me who just started new job and still can't get used to changes in your daily routine, all I want to say is let's stay strong! :D
