Beauty Haul | February

Friday, 28 February 2014
I didn't get a lot of things for this month as I've been busy with assignments and didn't have much time to go around the stores trying new products. With that saying, I'm battling my laziness when it comes to night routine by replacing emulsion and essence or serum step by using sheet masks every day.  So, when I had the chance to go out and hang out with my friends, I just quickly grabbed some stuffs at  Etude House.

I bought the I Need You, Mask Sheets in Pearl, Lemon, Green Tea, Aloe and Royal Jelly  and so far I've tried all of them and I love the Lemon variant the most.

I was feeling a little bit posh when I grabbed these Moonlight in Spoon: Blending Sleeping Cream in Evening Primrose, Shea Butter, Royal Jelly,  Rosehip, and Blueberry as they're actually a bit expensive for a one-time usage hence every time I use them, I usually just take out a half amount of product and use the rest of it the next night.

Like I've mentioned in the previous post, I'm into peeling products these days so I bought these two Magic Bubble Peeling Brush Peeling  Foam and Magic Bubble Peeling Oxygen Water Peeling Pack. The Peeling Foam is something that I can use everyday but for the Peeling Pack, it's better to use every 3 to 4 days.

Review: Skinfood Facial Water Vita-C Mist

Wednesday, 26 February 2014
Hey, lovely people! It's Wednesday and today is awesome because I don't have any class! Yay! Been rolling on this bed since morning (it's almost afternoon!) so I guess let me draft few reviews today and let's see how many I can publish. hehe Please pardon the slow update as I'm pretty much busy with thousands of things lately.

Anyway, let's warm up a bit so I guess I'm going to do a review on this product that I'm currently using, between this and my other facial mist, Etude House Wonder Pore Freshener, which is this Facial Water Vita-C Mist from Skinfood that I got from the Skinfood miniature kit in my November Haul.

Ask any Korean girl or woman, what is one of the things that they all must have in their school bag or handbag? It's Facial mist. So yeah, why not grab them today and incorporate it on your skincare routine?

Product Description:
A facial water mist that fills thirsty skin with vital hydrating energy of Vita C complex and Alaska glacier water.

What is Vita C Complex? This complex delivers revitalizing hydration with effective ingredients from Vitamin C-enriched berries, which are Raspberry, Acai berry, Cranberry, and Strawberry.

Alaska Glacier Water? Alaska is on initial source of water covered with over 20,000-year old glaciers. Alaska glacier water is fresh water at mildly alkaline pH, enriched with oxygen, minerals and ions.

How to use? duh. hehe
Mist over your skin right after cleansing, or whenever you feel your skin need to be refreshed.

Packaging:

As you can see above, this is actually the miniature version as this came in a kit along with Carrot Cleansing Foam.

It's in this orangey-brown mist bottle. Fit right in my hands and waist pocket.
I usually just place this on the side of my bag. :)

Note that the manufacturing date was labelled on the sticker.

Verdict:
Honestly, I love this product! It's citrusy scent is definitely refreshing especially during History 3 class. The consistency is like water so it absorbs into my skin rather quickly.

it's always hot here in Malaysia so yeah, facial mist is considered as important part in my skincare regime. It moisturises my skin so well, most importantly on those days I spent 8 hours a day in air-conditioned room.

Final verdict: 4/5. As I read the ingredient list carefully, this product does contains methylparaben. I'm not sure whether it's originated from the plants or preservative. I guess I'm not getting the full size of this product.

So yeah, that's a quick review for this product. Do tell if you ever tried this product and tell me your holy grail facial mist, okay! :D

Until next post, au revoir!

Review | TheFaceShop Lovely ME:EX Dessert Lip Balm in Orange

Friday, 14 February 2014
Hello, lovelies! Finally it's weekend! hehe Do you guys have anything planned?

Review: TheFaceShop White Mud Nose Pack

Wednesday, 12 February 2014
Hello, everyone! How's your week so far? Mine is going great. I actually don't have any class for today so I guess I'm going to another review today.

Anyway, do you remember my previous post on Blackheads? So today I'd like to review one of the products that I use to take care of the blackheads on my nose and chin area as well.

The product, White Mud Nose Pack from TheFaceShop, is a product that I've been using for about 3 months now. I usually use this at least once a week and I can tell it's nearly finish.

First, let's go to Product Description.

Formulated with White Mud and Burdock extract, this peel-off nose pack cleans and clarifies pores.

How to use:
After cleansing, spread over nose area or chin area and leave for 10 to 15 minutes.
When completely dry, slowly peel from the bottom up.
Finish up with toner.

Ingredients:
Water, PVP, SD Alcohol 40-B, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Magnesium Silicate, Butylere Glycol, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Citrate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Illite, Propylene Glycol, Arctium Majus Root Extract, Zinc PCA, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Biotin, Artemsia Princes LEaf Extract, Citric Acid, Fragrance, Allantoin.

Net weight: 50g

Packaging:

In the photo above, you guys can see that the product is housed within this small white tube with a brown hue label. I gotta say that the design for this one is a total fail as not even a little I'm attracted to it. Though it's minimal but yeah, nothing interesting.

Another thing that I don't like about it's packaging is that the product doesn't come with a proper dispenser, just like the above photo, it has a screw cap and definitely not working as the product kept flowing out of the tube. If you were to get this, you gotta store it flatly.

The texture is semi-liquid. it doesn't run like water nor it's really thick that it won't run down your finger if you do not apply it n your nose quickly after dispensing it.

That's how it looks like after I peeled it off. Though you can't really see the pulled blackheads here. Sorry for the low quality photo. hehe

Verdict:

Teheee~ that's my flat nose kekeke
To me, this product works fine. It does pulled out my blackheads. But one thing that I don't like about it is the itchiness I felt each and every time I use this product. I felt it after I peeled it off my nose. Though this doesn't happen when I use nose strips. Or maybe it's just me? hmm..

Final verdict: 3.5/5. As you see in the ingredients list, it has all the parabens I'm not pleased with. So yes, I won't be repurchasing this product.

I got this at the retailed price of RM19.90 at local TheFaceShop store here in Malaysia.

I guess that's all for now.

Do tell if you ever tried this product, share your thoughts on it and do recommend if you have tried good nose packs before. I'd like to try it! :D

Until next post, au revoir!

P.S.: Have you guys joined my first ever giveaway? Check it out by clicking the image below! :D

Review: TheFaceShop Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask

Tuesday, 11 February 2014
Hello, beautiful people! How are you guys! It's been about a month since I last did a review. hehe I was on vacation and right after that I have to settle with my university registration week. Phew! Getting in line while fighting with first year students to register one subject ain't easy, I tell you.

Anyway, today I'd like to share with you guys about a sleeping mask that I've been using for about 4 months now. I really love it but I'll tell you guys why I won't be repurchasing it again.

As the title of this post, it's the Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask from TheFaceShop. I got this during October last year and have been using it especially on those nights I'm lack of sleep and need quick fix the next day.

Drawing on the pure and natural strength of the Himalayas, extract of Himalayan Raspberry Root tones and lifts skin for refined facial contours.
Plant Extracts 0.64%
Raspberry Roots Extracts 0.1%

First, let's get to its Product Description. From the box.

Skin problems? Try sleeping on it with this overnight beauty mask and wake up to porcelain smooth skin.
Himalayan Raspberry Roots and Grain Extracts optimize elasticity and tighten pores while thoroughly hydrating and replenishing skin of lost nutrients.
Additions of plant extracts in the formulation promote the natural secretion of pleasure-inducing beta endorphins and stimulate the formation of collagen for more youthful skin.

How to use:
Before going to bed, spread evenly over face avoiding the lips and eye areas.
Rinse thoroughly with warm water the following morning.

Ingredients:
Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Alcohol denat, Tehalose, Glycerin, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Vigna Radiata Seed Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Coix Lacryma-Jobi Ma-Yuen Seed Extract, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract, Tephrosia Purperea Seed Extract, Lactobacillus/Eriodictyon Californicum Ferment Extract, Rubus Elliptus Root Extract, Machilus Odoratissima Bark Extract, Mallotus Phillipinensis Bark Extract, Phenyl Trimethicone, Carbomer, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Butylene, Glycol, Potassium, Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Sodium hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance, RED 33 (Cl 17200).

Net volume: 100ml 3.37 fl. oz

Packaging:

Like the picture above, the product is housed within the white bottle with the peach hues illustration which I don't even know whether that's raspberry or not. hehe

From what I heard, this product has been in the TheFaceShop line of products for a long time. About 5 or 6 years? Well, that's the BA told me where I got this product from. It even changed its packaging like once before. But I honestly don't like this kind of packaging as I can't see the amount of product left as it's an opaque bottle.

The bottle comes with this pump. I never seen another product with a pump like this before. It works well and dispense appropriate amount of product every time.

Texture and consistency:

As I have oily-normal combo skin, I really love the gel-like texture of this product. it absorbs quickly and doesn't left me with stickiness or oily face in the morning. it hydrates my skin as well.

As for the scent, it's a pleasant scent though it's actually fragrance.

Final verdict:

As some of you may already know, as an architecture student, sleep is like a luxury to me. No kidding. So on those days where I have to spent all day and night at the studio, lack of sleep, then when I have to present in front of architects and lecturers the next day, this is something that I used to rejuvenate my skin.

Just putting this mask on after cleansing my face properly, whether it's 8 hours or merely an hour of sleep, I'll wake up with a brighter and soft to touch skin. Give the nice and firm skin that I need before putting on my BB cream and simple makeup after that. Ah, I wonder if that's what it's like to have a porcelain skin. hehe

Not even once I break out after using it so I guess it's a huge plus.

If you guys are looking for a quick fix, then I guess this is great. Though the effect won't last more than a day. but I believe it'll help to contour your skin with a prolonged use of the product.

But unfortunately, like I have highlighted on the ingredients list, it contains parabens. Sigh. I didn't know while grabbing this at the store as during that time, I'm still new to this beauty products range.

Score: 4/5. Though I won't be repurchasing this again. I guess I need to find replacement soon as the bottle is getting lighter.

I bought this at the store with retailed price of RM99.90. I think I got 15% discount at that time.

Anyway, I guess that's all for today's review. Do share if you guys ever tried this product and of you have a nice recommendation of sleeping masks that work the same as this, definitely tell me.

Until next post, au revoir!

P.S.: Remember to join my first ever giveaway, okay!

2 Weeks Hiatus!

Monday, 3 February 2014
Hello, people!

First of all, I'm so sorry for not notifying you guys that I was actually on hiatus for 2 weeks (which ends today) as I was enjoying my semester break. Took vacation to the other side of Malaysia, went to an awesome duty-free Federal Territory of Labuan island, and went back to see grandma. All in all it was an awesome break as I get to spend quality time with family.

I'm back in campus, uni started yesterday and I can tell everyone in my studio aren't excited. haha We're still in holiday mood, I guess.

Anyway, bad things happened just now. When I restarted my PC, I don't know what happened, I lost all my important software like AutoCAD, Photoshop, even my iTunes. Oh, crap! I seriously want to banh my head on the wall right now. Sigh. Thank God I didn't lose my photos for my reviews.

During the vacation, I also lost my Molang Diary, where I wrote all plans for this blog. All tracked items, all draft reviews. Sigh. All my wish-lists.

I guess I'm going to need to do the inventory again so it's gonna take awhile.

I hope I can start doing my reviews probably by tonight or tomorrow.

Wish me luck for this semester, okay!

P.S. I'm going to announce my very first giveaway after I'm done with inventory. Stay tuned!

xx, Mira
