Beauty Haul | April

Wednesday 30 April 2014
April passes by so fast! I didn't even realize it's already May tomorrow! As it's the end of the month, it's time to post the haul of the month! It seems that I've been shopping a lot since the early of this year but what to do? As I love trying new products! Does that reason justifies the act? But this time it's not really that much compared to last month's. haha trying hard not feel guilty. LOL

Anyway, let's just get right into it! First, let's go to Nature Republic!

As last month's haul was focusing on skincare items, this month's haul is more on the cleansing products and wash-off masks. I decided to get these two Garden Recipe Strawberry Cleansing Foam for brightening, Garden Recipe Kohlrabi Cleansing Foam and Garden Recipe Kohlrabi Cleansing Water for deep cleansing purposes. To go with the cleansing products, I also grabbed Garden Recipe Strawberry Wash-Off Pack and Garden Recipe Kohlrabi Wash-Off Pack.

As these two were at marked down prices, I grabbed these Polynesia Lagoon Water Fresh Aqua Wet Tissues. It's always great to have this in hand especially while travelling or literally 5 seconds before passing out on my bed after a long day at the studio.

Sample Review | Etude House Lip & Eye Remover

Tuesday 22 April 2014
Annyeong, lovelies! How was your weekend? Ah~ For me it feels like I just had Friday and suddenly it's Tuesday! Ugh! It's been crazy these days but yeah. That's uni life.

Anyway, I have a quick review to share with you guys today, as I only started using it for about a week as I've been using waterproof eyeliners recently, this is the Lip & Eye Remover from Etude House.

Honestly, when I saw the name I was laughing so hard as why would you want to remove your eyes and lips? Then I realised it means eye and lip makeup remover. Silly me.

Review: Etude House Moonlight in Spoon: Blending Sleeping Cream in Royal Jelly

Sunday 20 April 2014
Annyeong, lovelies! How are you? I'm sorry for not being able to update so much these days as I've been busy with assignments.

Anyway today is just gonna be a quick review on this product that I tried I think I last week as I've been lack of sleep so extra care during night time is something that I've been giving attention to.

Moonlight in Spoon Blending Sleeping Cream in Royal Jelly. Whao~ still the most mouthful product's name ever!

Packaging:

'Firm and Moist' just scream to me like "Mira! Come to mama!" hahaha lame~

Overall, the packaging is the same as others from the same line like Rose Hip that I previously reviewed. Yellow is definitely royal jelly. hehe

Product description:
This is a Blending Sleeping Cream containing Royal Jelly extract, Lavender Flower Leaf and Stem Extract, Chamomile and Mint.
Blend together Sleeping Cream's golden herb water-gel and richly nourishing cream contents to deeply moistuirise and firm skin overnight for a bright moonlight-like complexion.

Be sure to check the manufacturing date on the packaging. :)

Royal Jelly!
Royal jelly contains amino acids which is also a basic ingredient in collagen, which is essential in maintaining the skin's firmness by supporting the skin's connective tissue. Because of its ability to aid in supporting this tissue, royal jelly often helps to reverse the effects of aging in the skin by eliminating brown spots, also known as "age spots," as well as wrinkles.

Before and after blending.

How to use:
Squeeze paper cover to slightly open up and remove enclosed spoon.
Remove sealing cover slowly starting from the end of spoon handle
Break off the spoon from pack container and evenly blend together golden herb water-gel and cream with spoon's smaller end.
Pick up blended Sleeping Cream with hands and apply evenly a certain amount onto face.
Wear overnight and rinse off with lukewarm water the next morning.

Texture and Scent:
As expected, the texture is the same as Rose Hip, as it's quite thick and creamy. The product doesn't absorbed into my skin quickly as I have to wait like half an hour before I can go to sleep.
The scent though is quite pleasing. Really nice and soothing.

Final verdict: 4.5/5. I love this variant as well as I remember waking up with firm and smooth skin the next morning.

Why not full score? Because it's quite pricey. RM9.90 per item is expensive if you ask me. Which is why I guess I'm going to opt for the one in jar instead of this. But of course, it's always fun to try new products for one time or for travel.

Will I repurchase? Of course. If there's sale in local Etude House store here in Malaysia like Buy 1 Free 1 or something. hehe

I think that's all for this review. Do share if you guys tried this variant, okay! I do want to know your favourite sleeping mask as well.

I'll see you guys next post, au revoir!

Review: Nature Republic UV Lock Flower Waterproof Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++

Saturday 19 April 2014
Annyeonghaseyo, lovelies! How's your weekend so far? Ah~ for me it's all about relaxing and of course, making some amendments for my design and of course studying for exam next week.

Anyway, today I'm going to review a product from Nature Republic, UV Lock Flower Waterproof Sun Cream with SPF50% PA+++.

Sun care is the most important thing after skin care products. It's important to protect your skin no matter where you go during the day time. Even if it's cloudy or you're just sitting in your room with bright sun rays coming in through the windows.

Review: Etude House Magic Bubble O2 Water Peeling Pack

Friday 18 April 2014
Annyeong! How's your week so far? I've been busy as always but I just finished up my design drawings so I guess I can do a review of a product that I got last January

I think I remember seeing Dara's face on a poster of this product. If so, it's released somewhere in 2011-2012.

Papaya Extract: water, rich in Vitamin A and C, exfoliating dead skin cells
Oxygen: skin cleansing, making the skin clearer.

Packaging:

As you can see, the product comes in this soft purple bottle with similar packaging as its sister product that I reviewed here

Simple and cute. :)

No worries as there's Product Description on the lower part of the bottle.

Formulated with AHA and O2 water, this 2-in-1 brightening mask pack and exfoliator refines skin texture and tone for smooth, healthy radiance, it improves penetration of skincare due to removal of dead skin cells.

How to use:
Massage a generous layer onto damp skin.
Wait 5 minutes, until full froth forms.
Rinse well with water.
Use 1-2 times a week.

The blue coloured fonts said "Water bubble type, contains Papaya extract.
Pack combination peeling."

Use right after dispensed, products can be used within 12 months after opened.

The manufacturing date is printed at the bottom part of the bottle. Shelf life is 3 years unopened.

The product comes with a pump. It's nice and easy to use.

As you can see on the left, the product is in almost transparent white gel. it does run a bit. It smells like lemon a bit, kind of refreshing scent.

Verdict:

First, massage the product onto skin for about a minute.

Then leave it for about 5-6 minutes until the froth of bubble formed.

Just wash-off with water and voila! Can you see the difference. :)

Honestly, I do like this product. It's mild and doesn't irritate at all. After wash, I don't remember any 'tight' feeling on my skin, which is good and I could say this works.

If you're looking for a mild peeling product then I guess this is for you. Maybe it's because I'm used to Skinfood Wash-Off masks that are quite grainy so yeah, this is pretty mild for me. For a change of mood, I guess this works for me.

Waiting for 5 minutes for the bubble to form is quite interesting sensation on my skin. It's a little ticklish. But it's not really a big deal.

I think I like this compared to the its sister product that I mentioned above.

One thing that I don't like about the packaging is the ingredients list isn't printed on it. Maybe it's on the plastic cover that I thrown away. Not sure. huhu

Final verdict: 4/5. But will I repurchase? Yes. But you guys know me, right? I always love trying out new product. hehehe

I think the price for this product is around RM90 but I don't think I paid that price. I think I grabbed this at marked down price at Etude House branch in Berjaya Times Square, KL. haha that I remember. LOL

Okay, I think that's all for this review.

Have you tried any similar product? Do tell, yeah?

I'll see you guys next post.

Au revoir!

Review | THE FACE SHOP Lovely ME:EX Mini Pet Perfume Hand Cream in Baby Powder

Wednesday 16 April 2014
Annyeonghaseyo! How are you guys? Enjoying Spring already? Ah~ so envy of you who're living in 4-season countries.. I wish I can go to Kyoto, Japan or Seoul, Korea. I heard the spring blossoms there are the best. This goes to my bucket list!

Today I'm going to review a hand cream from TheFaceShop, which is the Mini Pet Perfume Hand Cream from the Lovely ME:EX line. As you probably aware, Lovely ME:EX is a line targeted at young girls in teens to early twenties i.e. our Girls' Generation's Seohyun. :D

Any time, anywhere, inside my pocket ssook~ "Mini Pet"

Anyway, as you guys probably know, Spring/Summer 2014 fashion is filled with pastel colours. But as for someone who only have monochrome colours in her wardrobe, I guess this item is one of few things that I have in pastel colours. hehe

Packaging:

As I got mine in Baby Powder variant, this one comes in this soft pastel green cute tub. Just look at that cute doggie head on the cap!

There's product basic info at the bottom of the tub, including the expiration date. 20160320까지 simply means until 20 March, 2016. Well, that's the shelf life actually.

There's ingredients list if you peel the top sticker. TheFaceShop uses Phenoxythanol along with Methylparaben for preservatives. Use within 12 months after opened and apply right after scooped out.

That's the hand cream. It's white and the texture is any hand cream, creamy but not too heavy.

The cream absorbed into skin only after minutes. It doesn't leave any sticky feeling. The scent lasts for about 2 to 3 hours. I really love the Baby Powder scent. hehe

Final verdict: 4.5/5. I love it. From the packaging to the scent and texture. I just hope TheFaceShop will release new version of their hand creams without parabens next time.

I got this from the TheFaceShop branch in The Spring Mall in Sarawak. As they were having Chinese New Year promotion, I got this at half price (retailed at RM22.90) with the purchase of White Jewel Peeling.

So I guess that's it for this quick review, enjoy the rest of your weekend, and good night!

Au revoir!

What's Going On?

Sunday 13 April 2014
Okay, it's been a while since I last post anything but I'm not yet in the mood to review a product so today I just wanna talk about few things that have been going on with my life recently. hehe

If you're not interested, feel free not to further your reading from this point and do visit again when I post a new entry on product reviews, okay! :D

As you may already know, I'm an architecture student. Sometimes, heck, most of the time I wonder whether this is one thing I want to do for the rest of my life. No, I don't want to talk about heavy stuffs so let's leave it at that, okay? hehehehe

Anyway, finally!! I watched few episodes of 'You Who Came from the Star' starring our beloved Kim Soohyun oppa and beloved unni Gianna Jun. Please, cut me some slack. I've been extremely busy with uni so only now I got to watch that drama. Though I already watched a bit of it while streaming few episodes in my iPhone using DRAMOT app (it's awesome!!! Do check it out!!), watching properly on desktop is something that's just awesome! Okay, okay, I watched few episodes on dad's 60 inches HD Samsung TV before but as I only spent few days at home and S One was running 2 days marathon so yeah it was heaven on earth. But now that I'm in uni and I just got copies from a friend who downloaded the drama off the internet. I promise I'll buy the DVDs later, okay!

What can I say, I'm head over heels with the drama of course. I love Gianna Jun unnie from Blood the movie so 14 years comeback drama is definitely something I can't missed. Kim Soohyun oppa? Ah, I always wonder when his next drama coming up so this is great. I also heard and seen beauty bloggers were raving about the products used throughout the drama, from beauty products to fashion (oh, I love Kim Soohyun's Nike Air Max and New Balance shoes! Forgive me as I always give attention to what are the items that the male lead used in Korean drama..) and I gotta say it's crazy especially Gianna Jun unnie lipsticks! Even Laneige Malaysia has specifically mentioned that they ordered only 100 of the lipstick that she used in that drama. Was it Neon Orange? Ah, I wish my skin tone can pull off that colour.

Along with that, I also just found out that Kim Soohyun has been appointed as the new ambassador for one of my favourite beauty brand, TheFaceShop!

I gotta admit, Kim Hyun Joong oppa has made me started to use the products from that brand but Kim Soohyun oppa definitely has made me keep on being a loyal customer. :)
Good job, TheFaceShop! My purse is definitely crying soon with the launching of new skincare items for whitening soon. *wink*wink*

Other than that, it's been about 2 weeks since I'm using Laneige skincare products and so far it's been great. Though I did broke out few days after starting using it but when I asked the beauty adviser that I usually consult with and she said it's common especially when you're changing products. But thank goodness as I stopped breaking out within 3 to 4 days I think. hehe Which is why I can say all is good right now, well as for now. hehe

Another thing, did you guys noticed that almost every brand is promoting their sun care products right now? Well, Spring is here that's why. It's time to enjoy the sun, beautiful flowers and whatnot.

Here's a photo my cousin sent me through her Instagram. Spring in South Korea. This is nearby her uni, Korea University. Pretty isn't it?

Alright, I think that's all for now. Enjoy your week, okay!

Love, Mira
